Propmodo deciphers and defines trends for commercial real estate professionals through a combination of news, research, events, and marketing services. Our team specializes in creating diverse, deeply-researched content that helps shape perceptions in the industry and provides real value to property executives.
As a Research Associate with Propmodo, you will gain an intimate understanding of the changing real estate and technology landscape. You will have the opportunity to participate in interviews with leaders and trendsetters in real estate, design, and technology, while honing your research skills and writing chops as an integral part of our tight-knit team. This is a great opportunity for an individual with two or more years of experience working as a researcher or analyst with a focus on real estate, technology, architecture, urban planning, geography, economics, or a related field.
Position Summary
The primary role of the Research Associate will be to:
- Under the direction of the Editor, become highly knowledgeable in a range of topics from brokerage technology to investment strategies to sustainable construction and beyond
- Lead the production of internal research briefs on companies, projects, and tools relevant to Propmodo Research, that will be used to inform and guide our final published reports
- Assist in interviews of real estate professionals, technology leaders, academics, and others
- Help draft report content, transforming raw information into sophisticated, readable reports and well-designed graphics
- Gather and analyze data on companies, markets, and tools
Qualifications and Skills
The biggest qualities we are looking for are resourcefulness and thoroughness, particularly in regard to online research. We are looking for someone who will do more than just skim the first few pages of Google results and read a listicle or two when researching something. Instead, we are looking for someone who gets deep into the weeds to collect information and insights others would miss.
- A basic understanding of real estate and the technology industry
- The ability to gather data and perform data analysis in spreadsheets
- Well-developed, proven writing skills
- Strong Microsoft/Google skills including Excel or Sheets
- Experience researching, analyzing and authoring high quality reports
